From the Office of the Bishop of Wyoming

Bishop Bruce Caldwell announced today that he has accepted the resignation of the Rev Margaret Babcock, Canon of Ministry and Congregational Development as of July 31, 2010. Beginning May 1st, Margaret will be out of the office on a well deserved vacation.

Margaret came to Wyoming in October 2006 from the Diocese of Idaho. Over the years, she has represented the Diocese on several notable committees and organizations including Living Stones, The Ministry Developers' Collaborative, LifeCycles, the Chicago Consultation, Episcopal Divinity School and as deputy at General Convention. She has been instrumental in mutual ministry in Wyoming, as well as developing education and formation programs for all Wyoming Episcopalians.

Bishop Bruce Caldwell had these words to say: The Rev Canon Margaret Babcock is extremely knowledgeable in so many areas. Her knowledge of church formation has provided the force behind the Living Stones movement, as well as, mutual ministry here in Wyoming. Her service to our Diocese has been extraordinary and she will be truly missed.

Diocese Chancellor, Wallace Johnson, commented on the announcement: Margaret Babcock is committed and smart and her contribution to shared ministry in the Diocese of Wyoming is exemplar. I will miss her and wish her well as she travels forward in her ministry.

In retirement, Margaret plans on enjoying Wyoming with her husband, Chuck, as well as pursuing consulting work throughout the wider Church.
